The idea began with a single word.

Bluestocking.

Over time, and with a great deal of travel and thought and sketching and joy, it has blossomed from
a love and personal celebration of the literal definition
to a design studio concept.

Clever, thoughtful and personal Interior Design should be available to everyone.
There is room for your book collection. Your grandmother’s china fits, too.
You should most certainly begin with a proper plan, but then…add color. Add life.
Have you travelled? Do you collect small vases?
Maybe you enjoy being different…and want a room which reflects your independence. If so –

Make more than a little room for found objects.

Seek perfect imperfection.

Create a space that is tangibly remarkable.

Your story is singular. Unique. And often hard-won.
The space you call home, share with your family, entertain guests within
and, at the end of the day, retreat into,
should be equally distinct.

Abby Fraser – Owner and Designer

Although originally from Northern New York state (i.e. just 20 minutes from the northernmost NY border with Canada), I have lived, travelled, and worked domestically and internationally. I am a graduate of Cornell University’s Interior Design program and have spent more than 20 years in the Interior Design and Architecture industry. I have a wide range of design experience but have, primarily, focused upon high-end residential and historical preservation projects. I may have started my career in commercial design, but I very quickly gravitated toward the residential field. Why?

I fell in love with the client connection.
Working with people to create a path to their new home is deeply personal and incredibly rewarding.

My work experience in Australia, the United Kingdom, Washington DC, Seattle, Miami, and multiple locations in New England (NH, Cape Cod, RI) means that I bring a variety of styles and resources to the table. Forget preconceived ideas of *taste*, toss aside generic design options, and throw your doors wide open!
